TEHRAN (IQNA) – The secretary general of the AHl-ul-Bayt (AS) World Assembly underlined the need for organizing Quranic cricles and programs at the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) International University during the holy month of Ramadan.

Hojat-ol-Islam Saeed Jazari Ma’amouei

Hojat-ol-Islam Saeed Jazari Ma’amouei on Monday addressed a ceremony held at the university to celebrate the Eids of Sha’aban.

In his address, Hojat-ol-Islam Jazari Ma’amouei welcomed the new students of the university.

He also highlighted the opportunity that the holy month of Ramadan provides for Quranic activities such as Quranic circles, Quran teaching programs, Tafsir (interpretation) sessions and other events.

He said such programs promote a beautiful Quranic atmosphere at the university, which will have very good spiritual outcomes.

The cleric added that the lunar Hijri months of Rajab, Sha’aban and Ramadan are opportunities for one to educate the Nafs (self) and gain spiritual virtues.

Every year, various ceremonies are organized in different parts of the world on the birthday anniversaries of Imam Hussein (AS), Hazrat Abbas (AS) and Imam Sajjad (AS), which respectively fall on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of the lunar Hijri month of Sha’aban (February 24, 25, 26 this year).

Muslims also celebrate the 15th day of the month (March 8, this year) which is the birthday anniversary of the 12th infallible Imam (may God hasten his glad advent).

Ramadan (which is likely to start on March 23 this year) is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar in which Muslims fast from dawn to sunset. The Quran was revealed to the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) heart in this month.
