393 Quran Memorizers Graduate in Istanbul
The event was held at Arnavutkoy Mosque with the participation of students as well as Turkish religious officials, Aljazeera reported.
The Grand Mufti of Istanbul, Safi Arpaguş, stressed the importance of the Quran memorization school. He referred to the hadith which says, “The best of you are those who learn and teach the Quran,” pointing out that the group of graduates was blessed because of their memorization of the Book of God.
During the past hundred years, students in turkey have been eager to learn and memorize the Quran by attending some 90,000 mosques across the country.
In the summer of each year, all Turkish provinces witness the launch of institutes for memorizing the Holy Quran for all age groups.
According to estimates, more than 11,700 students in Turkey managed to commit the whole Quran to memory in 2021.
