The event was organized by the Dar al-Salam Quranic School in cooperation with the Iranian Cultural Center in Senegal, the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization’s (ICCRO) website reported.
Hassan Zakeri, Iran’s cultural attaché, was among the speakers at the forum. In his address, Zakeri stressed the importance of Islamic education based on Quranic teachings and concepts and said following the Quran’s teachings is the path to salvation.
Elsewhere at the event, a number of Quran students of Dar al-Salam schools recited verses from the Holy Quran.
Senegal is a Muslim-majority country in West Africa.
Followers of Islam make up nearly 94 percent of Senegal’s 13 million population, while Christians account for 5 percent and the remaining follow indigenous beliefs.
