Sheikh Mohammed Hussein in a statement strongly condemned the act of sacrilege as a racist and heinous crime.

He warned that such Islamophobic moves hurt the feeling of people and could lead to escalated tensions.

This is not the first time that extremists desecrate the Book of God, he deplored.

Sheikh Mohammed Hussein also slammed the silence of international bodies on the desecration of Islamic sanctities in different countries.

He called on the United Nations and the world countries to pass laws banning desecration of religious symbols and sanctities.

All of those who take such measures should be tried and punished in order to put an end to acts of hate in the world, he stressed.
