Four Journalists Kidnapped in Libya

According to al-Nushra news website, the four who were kidnapped at gunpoint had been covering events related to illegal immigration and human trafficking in the North African country.

Ahmed Abdul Karim Hamza, an official with Libya’s National Human Rights Committee, condemned the kidnapping and blamed it on the Government of National Accord’s security services.

Libya has been grappling with violence and political uncertainty since the regime of former dictator Muammar Gaddafi was deposed in 2011.

Armed groups and regional factions have been fighting for power ever since.
