Witnesses described the posters as containing racist slogans and portraits of Adolf Hitler.
The posters were attached to the glass doors and not the mosque’s white limestone brick, making cleanup easier. The posters appeared to have been scraped off before 10 a.m.
Coun. Rick Chiarelli condemned the mosque incident and urged Bells Corners residents to take part in an upcoming Neighbourhood Watch meeting.
The incident follows a weekend of national memorials commemorating the one-year anniversary of the Quebec City mosque shooting where six men were killed, andmore than a dozen wounded by a gunman.
Mosque officials were not immediately available for comment and were seen waving visitors away from behind the glass doors.
