The competition’s panel of judges announced the Iranian Quran reciter as the top winner of the international Quranic event.
Representative of Egypt was the runner-up while the Libya and Bahraini Qaris came third and fourth, respectively.
As many as 40 Quran reciters from different countries took part in the 2017 edition of the contest.
Born in 1982 in the holy city of Mashhad, Laal Avval has learned Quran recitation skills with different Quran masters including Javad Panahi, Shafiei, Momen, Hassani and Mojtahedzadeh.
He has previously won a number of other top titles in national and international Quranic events, including the top rank in Iraq’s international Quran competition in 2014.
Russia’s Quran contest, known as the Moscow Quran reciting competition, started on October 5.
It has been held annually since 2000. Since year 2007 the competition became international.
Mehdi Saedi who represented Iran in the 2016 edition of the contest came fourth last year.
