TEHRAN (IQNA) – During his life and in his journey in this world, man faces various difficulties and hardships.

Hardships that Promise Ease

Many thinkers have contemplated and talked about the reason why human beings suffer. Based on divine laws, hardships harbinger ease and calm.

God has created mankind to face hardships and difficulties: “Verily We have created man into toil and struggle.” (Surah Al-Balad, Verse 4)

These hardships are for training and helping one’s talents and aptitudes to flourish.

In fact, many perfections and developments cannot be achieved without facing difficulties and struggles.

Also, many good attributes such as patience, fortitude, Ridha (contentment with God), Zuhd (piety), Taqwa (God-fearing), and sacrifice, are formed when facing difficulties.

In addition, some sufferings and difficulties are the outcome of sins or mistakes one makes. They occur so that one would realize his wrong moves and try to make up for them.

They are divine punishments that are aimed at helping us find the right path and return from the path of deviation and ignorance.

In any case, whether hardships serve to test our faith and help us grow or are punishments for our wrongdoing, we can gain calm and go through them by praying to God and having Tawakkul (trust in God) because there will be ease after every hardship.

“Surely, after every difficulty there is relief.” (Surah Al-Inshirah, Verse 5)

God has given us the power to face difficulties and it is upon us to use it to get past them and reach ease and peace.

God says in verse 155 of Surah Al-Baqarah: “We shall test you through fear, hunger, loss of life, property, and crops. (Muhammad), give glad news to the people who have patience.”

God, who is the most compassionate and the most merciful, has created hardships for the perfection of man’s soul.
