Al-Aqsa Mosque to Be Open to Worshippers in Ramadan
The al-Quds Islamic Waqf Department, an Islamic religious trust managing the Al-Aqsa Mosque affairs, said all worshippers can say prayers in all parts of the compound during the holy month, Sahafaty website reported.
The department called on all of those who go to the mosque to observe all the health protocols.
It also urged all Palestinians to inject the coronavirus vaccine before Ramadan to help curb the infectious disease.
Al-Aqsa Mosque was closed to worshippers during Ramadan last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar. It is a period of prayer, fasting, charity giving and self–accountability for Muslims around the world.
During Ramadan, Muslims fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.
They also devote a considerable amount of time during this month to reading and contemplating the Quran.
Ramadan will fall in April and May this year (April 12- May 12).
