TEHRAN (IQNA) – The representative of the Islamic Jihad movement in Damascus, Syria, underlined that resistance against Israeli occupiers will continue until the end of occupation.

Speaking to al-Watan daily after an Israeli airstrike targeting a Damascus suburb in which two of the movement’s members were martyred, Ismail al-Sindawi said this was the second Israeli attack against Islamic Jihad in Damascus in four months.

He said such attacks are aimed at pressuring Syria to expel the movement and other Palestinian resistance forces.

Islamic Jihad is a movement against occupation and will not be intimidated into surrender, al-Sindawi said.

He added that the resistance will continue until occupiers are out of Palestinian lands.

Ziad Ahmed Mansour and Salim Muhammad Salim, both members of the Islamic Jihad’s armed wing, the Al-Aqsa Brigades, were among the six people who were killed in the Israeli air strike on Damascus on Sunday night.

“This cowardly aggression in Damascus was a reflection of the enemy’s failure to confront our fighters inside occupied Palestine,” the Palestinian movement said in a statement.
