Baiturrahman Mosque Symbol of Resistance in Indonesia

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Baiturrahman Grand Mosque is located in the center of Banda Aceh city, Aceh Province, Indonesia.

A symbol of religion, culture, spirit, strength, struggle and nationalism of the Acehnese people and their resistance against the Dutch colonialists, the mosque is a landmark of Banda Aceh. It is among the mosques that survived the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.
