According to Libya News, the Office of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs of Nalut Municipality held the competition at Al-Rahmah Mosque.
The contestants were students from Quran memorization centers in different parts of the city.
They competed in 9 categories, including memorization of the second half of the Quran, the last quarter of the Quran, the last five Juzes (parts) and the last three Juzes of the Quran.
Nalut is the capital of the Nalut District in Libya.
Efforts to develop Quranic activities in Libya are being made despite the violence that has plagued many parts of the North African country since a NATO military intervention led to the overthrow of former dictator Muammar Gaddafi.
