Int’l Conference on Moderation Planned in Baghdad

TEHRAN (IQNA) – An international conference on moderation is planned to be held in Baghdad, Iraq in cooperation with the Union of the Muslim World Universities.

 

 

According to the International, Islamic News Agency (IINA), the Awqaf (endowments) Office of Iraqi Sunni Muslims in Baghdad will host the conference on June 25 to 27.

The participants will discuss issues such as “the role of religious institutes in defending the society against extremist ideologies”, “dissemination of true religious concepts and its role in fighting extremism”, “social environment and its influence on fighting terrorism and extremism”, and “role of government institutes and the civil society organizations in what to do with the remnants of Daesh (ISIL or ISIS)”.

Abdul Ilah ibn Urfah, a Moroccan researcher who is in charge of the union’s secretariat, will represent the union in the international event.
