Iran Cultural Center Distributes Quran Copies in Dakar

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Iranian Cultural Center in Senegal gifted some copies of the Holy Quran to the Dar-ol-Quran centers in one of the districts of Dakar.

 

According to the Islamic Culture and Relations organization (ICRO), Seyyed Hassan Esmati, the Iranian cultural attaché in Senegal, toured the Quranic centers in a visit to the district, accompanied by Maryam Si, head of the Institute of Islam, Development and Woman.

The official gifted 20 Quran copies published Iran, as well as French translations of the Quran and some cultural packages to the directors of the Quranic and traditional schools of the district.

There are 17000 Dar-ol-Qurans in Senegal, most of which are traditionally managed and the government plans to modernize them.

Senegal is a country in West Africa where Islam is the predominant religion. Nearly 90 percent of the country's population is estimated to be Muslim.
