TEHRAN (IQNA) – The World Association of Muslim Youth gifted 15000 copies of the Holy Quran to Djibouti’s Education Ministry in a ceremony.

According to wanty1.com, high ranking members of the ministry and its advisors in cultural and art fields were present in the program.

The director of Djibouti’s Local Education Section thanked the association and stressed the importance of the cooperation to improve education in the African country.

He said the Quran copies will be distributed among the students in different parts of the country.

The director of the association also stressed the need for boosting relations between the association and the ministry, adding that the establishment of “The Center for Education and Development” affiliated to the association, has provided opportunities for more effective cooperation in educational fields in Djibouti.

The center has organized various educational courses on technology, electronic, management, mines, etc.

Djibouti is a mostly French- and Arabic-speaking country on the Horn of Africa. It is a predominantly Muslim country. Islam is observed by 94 percent of the its nearly one million people.
