Arbaeen Supplication to Be Investigated in Karbala Conference
According to the website of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine, the program has been planned by "Karbala” Research Center affiliated to the Astan.
The center has invited researchers, scholars and intellectuals to participate in the international event.
It has announced that the forum will begin at 9 a.m. local time at "Seyyed Al-Awsiya” conference hall of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine in Karbala.
Arbaeen marks the 40th day after Ashura, the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and his faithful companions in the 680AD Battle of Karbala.
Every year, a huge crowd of Shias march toward Karbala,
where the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) is located, to perform mourning rituals.
The Arbaeen Supplication, or Ziyarat of Arbaeen, is a prayer recited in Karbala on the day of Arbaeen.
It has been narrated from Safwan al-Jammaal from Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (AS), the sixth Shia Imam.
