TEHRAN (IQNA) – Representatives of Iran in different international Quran competition will be introduced later this week, an official announced.

Deputy head of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization’s Quranic Affairs Center Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Moghanni said their names will be announced on Sunday, concurrent with Eid al-Gahdir.

Speaking to ISNA, the cleric said they will be selected and introduced at the closing ceremony of the 40th national Quran competition.

The contest is underway in different categories in the northwestern city of Oroumiyeh.

Hojat-ol-Islam Moghanni also referred to Quranic programs on the sidelines of the national competition, saying that among those programs is one for honoring veteran Quran activists.

He added that a national campaign for promoting Quranic Waqf will also be launched on the sidelines of the contest.

Nearly 900 Quran activist from 31 provinces of the country have taken part in the 40th national Quran competition, which started in Oroumiyeh on Saturday.
